Three things I am loving  today:

A new clutter free way to store ribbon...that actually looks pretty!

Thinking of buying a piano just so I can paint it this color and arrange pretty plates above it.

Love the vintage safari feel these simple fern stamps lend to a postcard.

Letterboxing!!

While letterboxing is not an actual hand made thing, I think anyone who is interested in the handmade should know about it! I just found out about it from some friends and it is basically geocaching + handmade stamps!! so cool!

All you need is a computer, a hand made stamp (Maya*Made has some great examples, tutorials, and wonderful crafts w/ stamps she has made), and ink pad, and some type of journal or notebook.
Once you visit the website (also here) and find a location near you where a letterbox is hidden you have to go out and find it. Some are harder to find than others, but it's kind of like treasure hunting so it can be a lot of fun! Once you find the box, stamp the logbook inside with your personal stamp and sign your name. Then use the stamp provided in the box and sign your personal notebook to log the letterboxes you've found.

what the letterbox may look like..

some examples of logbooks..

I'm all ready to start carving my own stamp and find some hidden treasures in my neighborhood!!!

Etsy Wednesday

A late Etsy Wednesday is still an Etsy Wednesday to me!!! (especially if the clock says 12.25am  Thursday but I still haven't gone to bed yet so technically it's still Wednesday night for me).

Top faves from the Etsy world this week...

stamp it!

One of my favorite things to do in a craft store is look at all the different stamps and beautiful array of ink pads. It makes me want to sit down and write letters and use my stamps to embellish the letter and the envelope.

Mayaluna, writer of Maya*Made, has shared some wonderful and easy tips on how to make your own stamps!

She also led me to Gennine's Art blog which I think is my new favorite! I just love looking at her blog with all it's colors!! Anyways, Gennine also loves making her own stamps. She drew up this little example to show what supplies you need. Here is also a tutorial on how to make your own eraser stamps.

I am so inspired to start making my own and stamping everything!! Hopefully you will be too!
