Valentine Light Bulb

Back in February I really wanted to post this amazing Valentine Light bulb from Design*Sponge. I didn't though because I wanted to make it for my fiance and didn't want to ruin the surprise!

I ended up making it and Aaron and I used it in our engagement photo session done by Kristyn Hogan!

Design sponge DIY...

My version below!

It's a little hard to read but I wrote "You light up my life." What a fun project it was! I learned how to gut a light bulb and definitely want to make more! Thanks design*sponge!

Back to the blog: cute DIY's!

I don't know why but lately I just haven't been in the blogging mood.
Recently, however, there have just been too many wonderful and creative projects to pass up sharing!!

First off I really need to show you this cool bicycle chandelier. Yes, bicycle chandelier. Anyone could do this! I love the different types of bulbs and the color pallette. This looks very "anthropology," I love it.

Here are other ideas...

All lit up!

There are just too many cool things to make in this world!!
I've literally been going crazy finding all of these amazing lights that you can make. Last month I shared some unique lamps and lanterns made out of all sorts of things like legos and egg cartons.
This month Crafter-holic! has found a few more things to do with lights...

Looks like you only need an afternoon plus a few items like store bought lanterns

and presto! A cozy and relaxing atmosphere in the back yard (or inside!)

Second, Origami box covers for christmas lights from Thrifty Fun
All you need is a stack of colorful squares of paper and some folding-ready fingers!

I just love the simplicity of the boxes. What's great is you could do any color theme for these...black and white, rainbow, christmas, Fourth of July, the list goes on. I'd really like to experiment with different shapes too.

If you create any of your own please be sure to let me know how they turned out!!

Light me up

I think if I started my own hotel or hostel somewhere this is how I'd want to light it. I'd start collecting the most random things I could find and make lamps out of them! What a great way to recycle old toys or the little umbrellas you get on frilly drinks huh?
Check out another one of my favorites, the Chiquita Banana Chandelier.
