My ever talented husband just opened up an Etsy shop named 5 x 5 and you guys should all go take a look [and buy a print maybe?] ! His photos in the shop are taken with a Holga and used as an accompaniment on his photo shoots and travels. To see his other work visit his site
[Click on his "Nashville" project to see his senior thesis work which will be hung later this month. We're so excited!]

keeping track of 2010

One of my favorite things to do each Christmas is go to the bookstore and pick out a calendar for the new year. When I was younger I'd choose from Disney princess and some form of baby animal theme. 2009 was a beautiful selection of antique maps.

I kind of skipped calendar shopping this past Christmas since I got a shiny new iPhone. I've been using it's calendar feature and it's been amaaaazing. But now that we're half way through January, I realize that I miss my paper calendar hanging on the wall where I can see it everyday.

Here are a few that have caught my eye...

I really like having just one sheet that displays all of the months. 2010 might be the year I change over to that instead of a regular ol' one that you flip each month!

cont.: fruit cozies

And if you're wondering if they make other fruit cozies...well... they do!!!

pears need special attention... :)

oranges really aren't different from the apples...

cozy apple

apple cozy...I think I want some apple cozies. I've been roaming around Etsy to see what people are selling and honestly?...while I love etsy and want to support other people's work the ones online are kind of expensive. They're super cute, but I'm sure I could learn how to knit one up myself.
If I did want to spend 10ish bucks here are some I'd choose from...

Etsy Wednesday continued...

[Etsy Wednesday]

Today kind of became Etsy Wednesday since the last few posts are all items you can find on the wonderful Etsy.com.
Here is another must have that I am drooling over...

How gorgeous is this wrap?! It's something I'd want to wear everyday, all day.
The plumavera wrap from Zelaya's shop.

Plantable tags!

This is brilliant!! This would be a great gift all intself!

100% recycled tags created from gathered junk paper and cut into various shapes. They are triple pressed, dried indoors to preserve their color and hung by hemp string. Different types of seeds are mixed in the process to create lovely plantable gift tags! Great idea for a wedding too : )

thinking of valentines

Last night I was wandering around Target and noticed the complete absence of Christmas. I mean, I know Christmas is over but what happened to the clearance section?! It was gone, just like that, no more. Out with the old holiday and in with the new. All of the valentines cards were out and the beginning of candy hearts and plastic red and pink pails were taking over [along with the first wave of bathing suits which I reluctantly browsed through]. So, in lieu of preparing for the holiday of love, here are some very sweet cards I found...

hmmm, should I go with sweet or silly this year?
