After learning about it from a few classmates, I requested an invitation and have just set up an account. I am still learning my way around the site, but am pretty excited to join a community of knitters and other craft makers.
Ravelry is equivilant to facebook, but for knitters and crocheters. It's a place to be a part of a community that helps each other with projects and inspires one another. You can keep track of what yarn you are using and what projects you are working on. You can also see what others are creating and save the pattern they have posted to make for yourself later!
